“TAKE THESE WORDS HOME AND THINK IT THROUGH.”

2025 will make 30 years since the release of one of the most memorable productions/beats and songs (“Shook Ones, Part II”), by one the most legendary and celebrated duo’s (Mobb Deep), from one the more preeminent and supreme albums (“The Infamous”) to EVER be released within the genre.

NOTE: The song was a sequel to the group's 1994 promotional single "Shook Ones.”

The Back design is from the original 2023 art/work titled “INFAMOUS,” by the artist extraordinaire Chantala. Chantala, along with his wife, are the owners of Beverly Phono Mart (where this shoot took place), located in the historic Beverly neighborhood on the far South Side of Chicago.

The phrase on the Front of the shirt (lyric from Prodigy’s verse on the song), is actually from a design that I put on the sleeve on a release from 2015.  With each shirt from this release, I’m bringing back and remixing various elements from past productions.

Speaking directly to this lyric, Hip Hop helped to raise us in a sense (growing up), particularly those like myself who lacked, yet desired, a direct and engaging Fatherhood presence in their life. The music taught and/or assisted us in how to act, dress, eat, learn, teach, speak, and find solace and strength within various spiritual beliefs and practices.

Adding to the latter, the overall narrative of this joint highlights the raw perspective of 2 inner-city youths from the Queensbridge section of NYC engaged in the struggle against “halfway crooks” in and amongst places where the “temperature was definitely rising.” However, this particular phrase speaks to the many like myself who when faced with adverse situations or severe tribulations in life, have been able to lean onto and take peace, strength, and healing, from the awesome and supernatural power of GOD.
